Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco four-star defensive lineman Jordan Thomas made his third visit to Georgia in the past six months over the weekend. The Bulldogs have been among the top contenders in his recruitment since he tripped to Athens in January, but this official visit looks to have out them on top of his recruitment.

Following his visit, Thomas is trending heavily toward UGA, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). After expert picks from Michigan insider EJ Holland and Georgia insider Jake Rowe, the Bulldogs hold a 92.3 percent chance of securing Thomas’ commitment.

“I’m not sure how well-known this was coming into the visit, but those same sources tell me that UGA was in great shape before Thomas made this latest trip to the Classic City,” Rowe wrote on Monday. “There are two massive reasons for that — Fran Brown and Tray Scott. Brown has played a massive role in recruiting Thomas. The Georgia defensive backs coach’s connections in The Garden State are big in this recruitment.

… The same can be said for Scott’s track record and ability to build relationships. Georgia has itself in tremendous position because of the tag-team effort. Now, with that said, I’ve yet to hear a timeline for a decision. It would not surprise me if it happens soon, but I’m not necessarily expecting that. I do feel confident in saying that a team is going to have to work hard to knock Georgia out of the lead spot right now.

Rutgers, South Carolina and Michigan all in the mix for Jordan Thomas

The official visit was Thomas’ second in as many weeks after visiting Rutgers the previous weekend. He still has remaining official visits scheduled with South Carolina and Michigan later this month, though it remains to be seen if he will end up taking those.

The 6-foot-6, 287-pounder is the No. 112 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 15 defensive lineman and the No. 1 recruit in New Jersey.

On3 is slightly higher on Thomas than other recruiting services, tabbing him as the No. 11 defensive lineman in the country in the latest On300 rankings.

The Bulldogs currently have the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, already racking up 18 commitments through early June. Thomas, though, would be only their second commit along the defensive line should he choose to join up with the Bulldogs — four-star Justin Greene committed to Kirby Smart and Co. on June 6.
