Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Kelee Ringo is looking to improve his draft stock at the NFL Combine this week. One way he can do that is by putting up a low number during the 40-yard dash.

Meeting with media on Thursday in Indianapolis, Ringo opened up that he wants to run below 4.35 in the 40-yard dash.

“Might as well shoot for the moon,” Kelee Ringo said.

In the 2022 NFL Combine, only nine players ran under 4.35 seconds. Four of them were defensive backs and the rest were wide receivers. That includes Tariq Woolen, who had an excellent rookie season. John Ross holds the combine record, running 40 yards in just 4.22 seconds.

Vegas laid odds for the 40-yard dash this year. Ringo was not among the six players who have the best odds. In fact, only one defensive player is in those top six, Christian Gonzales. To bet on Ringo, betters will have to take the field at +1233.

Kelee Ringo on his daily mentality

Kelee Ringo knows that the NFL Combine is really a large job interview. That means he needs to treat every day there like a tryout for NFL rosters.

“The standard at the University of Georgia is like no other. The preparation that Coach [Kirby] Smart gives to us and the standard that he holds us to everyday, we know it’s going to be tough coaching. We know that he makes us better with every single thing he does,” Ringo said.

“Every single day it feels like a try out at the University of Georgia. I feel like holding that standard that Coach Smart, the rest of the coaching staff and our teammates held us to with each other definitely helped us grow as a team to have success.”
