Kendall Milton sees 'hungry' Georgia team entering SEC Championship vs. Alabama
The SEC Championship Game will carry high stakes for both teams involved, with a College Football Playoff berth on the line for both Georgia and Alabama, potentially.
For the Bulldogs, there’s also a little bit more at stake in the matchup that has become semi-regular in the SEC title game over the last half decade or so.
“I feel like it would be super big just for the fact that coach Mike (Bobo) pointed it out that we’ve never been able to beat Alabama in Atlanta,” running back Kendall Milton said. “And that doesn’t just go for the players, that goes for the coaches as well.”
In fact, Georgia has faced Alabama in the SEC Championship Game three times previously — in 2012, 2018 and 2021 — and has not won any of them.
The Bulldogs did get a nice consolation prize in 2021, when the team lost in the SEC Championship Game but went on to beat Alabama in the national championship game.
But Georgia would certainly like to continue its excellent run of form and go into the College Football Playoff unbeaten.

“So I feel like we have a huge opportunity here,” Miltton said. “Just judging off of today’s practice I feel like we’ve taken that opportunity to heart. This was probably one of the most physical, chippiest practices we’ve had all year, but it just shows how hungry we are, how much we want it.”
Georgia has won 45 of its last 46 games, dating back to the 2020 season. It’s an incredible run of form, one that has surpassed even some of the great Alabama runs in history.
Still, it won’t feel quite complete without that win over Alabama in Atlanta, a feat that has proven elusive for the Bulldogs.
The game, which has Georgia entering as a 5.5-point favorite according to FanDuel, will be played at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday with a national broadcast on CBS.
