Kirby Smart at basketball game of Georgia 2024 4-star LB commit Demarcus Riddick

Clanton (Ala.) Chilton County School four-star linebacker Demarcus Riddick is one of the top commits in Georgia‘s 2024 recruiting class. As a result, Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart paid him another visit by attending his basketball game on Thursday night.

Riddick is the No. 43 overall prospect and No. 5 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in Alabama.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker recently spoke about Georgia with On3’s Chad Simmons. He expressed high praise of Smart.

“I love him,” Riddick said of Smart. “He has a really good mentality. He’s a really good guy. When he used to call me, I just loved having fun on the phone with him. I love him like he’s a father to me.”

In addition to Riddick, the Bulldogs have commitments from seven other juniors. They include Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star tight end Landen Thomas and Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star safety Peyton Woodyard.
