The Georgia Bulldogs have just checked in for the start of their 2024 fall camp. But before they get down to business and preparation for the upcoming college football season, head coach Kirby Smart provided an injury update for some of his Bulldogs players. According to the Georgia head coach, a good amount of the players mentioned below are expected to participate in fall camp in some form or another.

“In terms of injuries and things we have coming into camp, we’ve got some guys that are banged up from the summer,” said Smart.Warren Brinson is dealing with an Achilles tendon, so he’ll be in and out. It’s the opposite one of the one he had spring. But it’s not long [the recovery time]; we injected it and then he should be back shortly.”

Marcus Harrison dealing with a stress reaction on his foot; should be back shortly. Jordan Hall has a tibia stress fracture that we ended up having to do surgery on. We expect a full recovery; he’ll be back hopefully by the first game, but he will be close. Ty (Tyrion) Ingram is coming back from an injury that he’s dealt with. He’s not 100%, but he’s close. Smael (Mondon Jr.) is able to do some stuff not everything. But he’s almost back. Chris Peal had a labral repair in the spring; he’ll be limited a little bit. Branson (Robinson) we start practice without limitations, but we will have some load management with him. And then, Cole Speer dealing with a little bit of mid foot sprain.”

While injuries are an unfortunate part of the game, Smart anticipates the players listed to be contributors and Georgia’s success on the field this season. However, Smart had to address the status of one player who is not part of the Bulldogs’ future plans prior to the injury updates.

Rara Thomas dismissed from Georgia Football team

Rara Thomas has been dismissed from the Georgia Bulldogs following the receiver’s Friday morning arrest on two misdemeanor battery charges and one felony cruelty to children charge. Dawgs HQ shared the news that head coach Kirby Smart dismissed Thomas.

“On Rara, had a chance to sit down and meet with him face-to-face Tuesday, which I think was really important and let him know that he can no longer be a part of the football team,” Smart said. “He understands that and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward.”

In addition to the wide receiver’s recent run-in with the law, Thomas has faced similar off-field issues, including less than a month into arriving in Athens. The former Mississippi State transfer was arrested for a misdemeanor count of family violence and a felony account of false imprisonment, per Jake Rowe of DawgsHQ.
