Kirby Smart lights into Nate Frazier for penalized Gator Chomp, throat slash combo TD celebration

Georgia is attempting to pull off a come-from-behind win against Florida and leave Jacksonville with a rivalry win. True freshman running back Nate Frazier tied the game up in the third quarter on a three-yard rush, with the PAT being good. But the ensuing kickoff will be 15 yards back after Frazier was penalized for taunting.
Frazier scored the touchdown but immodesty got up and did the Gator Chomp. He then slashed his throat, instantly drawing a flag from the official. Emotions are certainly high in the rivalry game, especially for someone having a first-time experience.
Head coach Kirby Smart was not too happy with Frazier as the celebration was cut short. Smart lit up when talking to his running back, with his face being nearly as red as the Georgia uniforms.
“Yeah, that’s a no-no,” ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit said. “He’s telling him that that’s a selfish play.”

Injury update provided on Georgia running back Trevor Etienne
Trevor Etienne was experiencing the Florida–Georgia rivalry from the UGA sideline for the first time in his career. The former Florida running back returned to Jacksonville as a Bulldog but has not been able to make a significant impact. Just before halftime, Etienne was shown going back to the locker room with an apparent injury.

Coming out of the halftime break, an update on Etienne was provided on the ABC broadcast. There is some good news from ESPN’s Holly Rowe, revealing Etienne is available to play in the second half. But there is apparently a significant amount of pain in the rib area after taking a hit. If Etienne does get back on the field, he will be battling.
“Coach Kirby Smart told me he took a pretty significant shot to the rib,” Rowe said. “He is going to try to play here in this second half but he’s in a lot of pain. So, they don’t know how much or how effective he will be. He had a conversation with Trevor coming down the tunnel and looks like he does want to play but guys, it’s a pain tolerance issue.”
