Kirby Smart on Georgia running back Kenny McIntosh: ‘He’s a bad MFer’

Kenny McIntosh and the Bulldogs’ offensive line helped carry Georgia to success during the 42-20 victory over Florida in Jacksonville, and that isn’t lost on head coach Kirby Smart who praised his talented tailback for his performance in Jacksonville Saturday afternoon.
“I thought Kenny McIntosh showed a little something tonight now,” Smart said.” When he came out after that fumble. He had that eye of the tiger and he wanted the ball. He was running the ball hard and physical and getting yards after contact. That’s a lot of credit to the offensive line and a lot of credit to Kenny as well.”

McIntosh finished the game with 16 carries for 90 yards (5.6 yards per carry) and two touchdowns. After scorning the touchdown to put the Bulldogs up three scores, Smart went right over to McIntosh on the sideline to know how much he means to the Georgia program.
“I told him he’s a bad MFer,” Smart said. “He’s tough, he’s physical. He gets after it and he responded. That’s what I talk about. You’ve got an opportunity to show resiliency—one of our four DNA characteristics. I promise you every NFL scout and every Georgia fan watching will remember the way he responded. He ran the ball with just a vicious attitude. A contact seeking running back.”

On the season, the physical running back has accumulated 69 carries for 332 yards and six touchdowns. Splitting time with Daijun Edwards in the backfield this season, the two have combined for over 700 of the Bulldogs’ 1,616 rushing yards on the season.
With the running game continuing to be the Bulldogs’ bread and butter, McIntosh will be relied upon heavily down the stretch for Georgia, especially this weekend when they take on the white-hot Tennessee Volunteers between the hedges in a highly anticipated matchup between two of the top-three teams in the country.
