Kirby Smart provides injury update on Roderick Robinson, Kendall Milton
Georgia has been banged up at running back so far this season, and coach Kirby Smart provided an injury update on the position following practice on Tuesday evening.
According to Smart, at least Roderick Robinson is looking doubtful to play due to an ankle injury, while Kendall Milton continues nursing a knee injury. Neither practiced Tuesday.
“It’s looking doubtful that Roderick will be able to play this week,” Smart said, via Seth Emerson of The Athletic. “I’m still holding out hope that Kendall might be able to.”
The duo represents two of the top three rushers on the team through the first two games.
Milton has accounted for 96 yards and a touchdown, while Robinson has logged 89 yards and two scores.
Over time, Milton has proven to be quite a valuable body to have in the backfield. In his four-year Georgia career he has tallied 199 carries for 1,145 yards and 10 touchdowns, while also adding 10 catches for 100 yards and a touchdown.
Robinson is more of a newcomer in the backfield.
The talented true freshman was ranked as a high four-star prospect, checking in at No. 152 overall in his class in 2023. He was ranked as the No. 10 running back in the class and the No. 11 overall player from the state of California, hailing from San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln.

Amarius Mims also on the injury update
Another unfortunate addition to the injury report for Georgia is star offensive tackle Amarius Mims. He suffered a sprained ankle in the team’s win over South Carolina this weekend.
According to Smart, Mims will have tightrope surgery, and he’ll be out for a number of games moving forward. Seth Emerson of The Athletic reported the Georgia offensive lineman’s timetable seems to be 4-6 weeks.
“We don’t know how long that’ll be,” Smart said on Monday, via Emerson. “He’ll be back, we just don’t know how long.”
Mims went down in the first half of the contest against South Carolina with an apparent leg injury as he went to make a block in the second quarter, but ended up walking to the locker room. He did not return to the playing field.
