Kirby Smart is a fan of Stetson Bennett‘s fresh fade, but he believes it signifies the fact that the entire Georgia Bulldogs team is locked in for the 2022 season.

To illustrate, the Bulldogs quarterback and other teammates decided to get buzzcut-fades as the team readies to defend their title. It’s a tactic that goes back as far as team sports — rocking similar haircuts to bring the squad closer, and Smart even affectionately revealed their “Buzzcut Boys” nickname.

Check out the photo evidence of the quarterback’s new style below, where Bennett traded in his old haircut for a fresh new fade.

During his first preseason press conference, Smart touched on the topic of Bennett’s trip to the barbershop.

“There’s several guys, more than Stetson, that decided to get it. It goes back a little bit to that lock in and lock out. Lock in to camp. Lock out all the noise, and all the social media things,” stated Smart. “Get really focused on being the version of yourself.

“There’s several guys that I guys decided to do that through their hair.”

If the buzzcut becomes a secret for success inside the Georgia locker room, perhaps Kirby Smart will take a trip to the barbershop with Stetson Bennett. After seeing how fresh the Bulldogs quarterback looks, Smart may have to get a fade regardless.

Stetson Bennett details how his life changed as national champion

Moreover, the biggest change for Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett aside from walking around campus as the starter for a national champion and his new hairstyle? Finally giving in and getting an iPhone. That’s right, Bennett was a holdover loyalist to the flip phone prior to winning a College Football Playoff ring. But now, he finally made the move into the 21st century of smartphone technology. That and he has a few tips from Peyton Manning under his sleeve ahead of the 2022 season.

At SEC Media Days, Bennett addressed both his cell phone upgrade and what he learned from his time at the Manning Passing Academy regarding NIL/endorsement deals.

Here was him detailing the snafu that came with finally switching phones:

“I do. I had to get rid of the flip phone. Oh geez, let me get weak. It was brutal trying to TI-9 it up. And my contacts wouldn’t switch over because they weren’t compatible or something like that. Oh my goodness, I had like 500 text messages — and I just had to be like ‘thanks.’ So I couldn’t deal with that so I had to get rid of that.”
