On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine: Georgia trending for 5-star KJ Bolden
Georgia brought a host of elite recruits from around the country to Athens this weekend for its ‘Scavenger Hunt’ event and major recruiting weekend. At the top of the list though, was a player from just down the road: Buford (Ga.) Five-Star Plus+ safety KJ Bolden.
The 6-foot-0, 185-pounder is the Bulldogs’ top in-state target and one of elite recruits in the 2024 class The On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, tabs him as the nation’s No. 5 overall prospect and No. 1 safety. He is also the No. 1 player in Georgia.
Bolden told On3’s Chad Simmons that this visit stood out to him in comparison to all the others he has taken to Georgia, and according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Bulldogs are now the favorite to land him.
After updates from across the recruiting industry, Georgia now holds a 61.8 percent chance of securing Bolden’s commitment.
Weekend visit made a big impression on KJ Bolden
“The vibe was was amazing today at UGA,” he told Simmons. “I was able to spend a lot of time with the coaches and also the commits. We talked about what Georgia could look like for next 3-4 years and how this would go down in the books as the best class to every step foot on any campus. I enjoyed my time today and today helped me see the bigger picture and what Coach Smart is building.

… The highlight of the day was just spending time with Coach Smart and the staff and just being able see the whole plan right in front of me. Georgia has been with me since day one as they were one of the first schools to offer me. I have visited Georgia a lot throughout my high school career but today gave me a feeling that this could be home for the next three to four years. I love what Coach Smart is building and I can see myself being a part of history with this ’24 class.”
Bolden originally planned to commit during the summer but told Simmons that he will reveal his college decision during the season following his official visits.
Georgia will host him the weekend of June 9, while Clemson (June 2), Ohio State (June 17), Alabama (June 23) and Auburn (Sept. 29) will bring him to their campuses as well.
