Georgia TE commit Landen Thomas now an On3 Industry five-star recruit
Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County tight end Landen Thomas announced his commitment to Georgia on July 7. He chose the Bulldogs after decommitting from Florida State in Oct. 2021.
The 6-foot-4, 238-pound recruit is considered as one of the top players in the country. Now, he has earned five-star status in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking following industry updates.
Thomas is the No. 20 overall prospect and No. 1 tight end in the 2024 cycle, according to the Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 5 player in Georgia.
“Georgia has a great team,” Thomas told On3’s Chad Simmons on July 7. “The talent is there. I am getting to stay home and play for the home state school. It is a great fit for me.”
Thomas has already visited Athens multiple times. He was last on campus on June 23.
“Coach (Todd) Hartley has been coming hard after me,” Thomas said. “He is a great guy, he has shown me a lot of love, and I know I am wanted at Georgia. He coaches up the tight ends, they use two, sometimes three, in their offense, and it is a place I feel I can do really well at.”

Only one Bulldogs pledge is ranked ahead of Thomas: Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV. He is the No. 6 overall prospect and No. 1 cornerback in the Industry Ranking.
Thomas and Robinson IV are two of Georgia’s seven top-100 commits. The others are Clanton (Ala.) Chilton County School four-star linebacker Demarcus Riddick, Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star safety Peyton Woodyard, Rockledge (Fla.) four-star safety Jaylen Heyward, Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County four-star wide receiver Ny Carr and Mableton (Ga.) Pebblebrook four-star running back Dwight Phillips.
Three other players are pledged to the Bulldogs. They are Avon (Conn.) Avon Old Farms four-star quarterback Ryan Puglisi, Swainsboro (Ga.) four-star athlete Demello Jones and Cartersville (Ga.) Cass three-star wide receiver Sacovie White.
“Coach (Kirby) Smart has Georgia winning,” Robinson IV told Simmons on Feb. 1. “I don’t know how else to say it. Coach Smart is a great dude that is easy to talk to, but at the same time, he leads the program and makes each player the best they can be.”
