LOOK: NFL releases official 40 time for Jordan Davis at NFL Scouting Combine
Former Georgia star Jordan Davis already turned heads on Saturday night at the NFL Scouting Combine by running a mind-blowing 4.82 40-yard dash time. Well, the NFL just released the official 40-time and it turns out Davis ran even faster than that. Check out the tweet below.
Broadcasters on the NFL Network simply couldn’t believe their eyes and they are not alone. For a 341-pound human being to run a 4.78 40-time is one of the most impressive performances in NFL Scouting Combine history.
Davis’ official 40-yard dash time is the fastest ever at the event by a player over 340 pounds and by a good margin. The second fastest time ever run by a player that big was run by Dontari Poe of Memphis back in 2012, he ran a 4.98.
His performance today on the NFL Network’s Simulcam was just as mind-blowing. For Davis to run faster than Jameis Winston and Baker Mayfield is just ridiculous.

Jordan Davis racked up the hardware this season
Jordan Davis was the 2021 winner of the Outland Trophy, given annually to college football’s top interior lineman, and the Chuck Bednarik Award, given annually to college football’s best defensive player. He was also a consensus first-team All American and a unanimous All-SEC selection. The former Georgia defensive lineman was also a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and for the Lott IMPACT Trophy.
During the 2021 campaign, Davis racked up 32 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and a pass breakup in his final season. Davis also had two carries for two yards and a touchdown.
While Davis still has one year of eligibility remaining, it’s no surprise he decided to turn pro and prepare for the NFL Draft, because many scouts have him pegged as a first rounder.
