Marquavious Brown, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard out of Covington (Ga.) Newton has committed to Georgia basketball for the class of 2023, he tells On3.

Brown is the Bulldogs’ first commitment of the 2023 class. He chose UGA over offers from Clemson, Texas Tech, Missouri, amongst others.

Brown on his decision to be a Bulldog

“It’s close to my home,” Brown said. “It’s only like 25-30 minutes away. It’s close for my mom, so she can come to see me whenever. The atmosphere and the love at Georgia was different. They love the sports there so I like that. The relationship that me and the coaching staff have…we’re best friends. We laugh and joke and stuff like that.”
