Georgia enters the postseason on a four-game win streak that has them back in the bracket for the NCAA Tournament. Still, to play well next week in Nashville, Mike White is still looking for a couple of things from the Bulldogs.

White discussed where his team is going into the tournaments after their regular-season finale in a 79-68 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday. He knows they’re coming into it the right way as they’re playing some of their best ball from the end of February through the start of March.

“Got momentum,” White said postgame.

Even so, White wants to see the ‘Dawgs play at their very best now by all of them putting together a full performance by the team. That’s a lot for their guards and bigs to all do at once but is what will be needed from them in order to advance in either field that they’ll be in.

“I mean, um, a couple of our guys weren’t quite as sharp as, as we’ve been on that last roadtrip but other guys stepped up. So, hopefully, you can put it all together, right, where you’ve got all, all five guards that you play all play well at one time, all of your frontcourt guys play well at one time. And that’s, that’s your ceiling. That’s maximizing potential,” said White. “Hard to do, um, but needed this time of year if we’re going to, if we’re going to make some noise, you know, the rest of this month. So that’s where, that’s where we’ll focus as we get back to work.”

White addresses where Georgia stands on bubble for NCAA Tournament

Georgia was trending out of the tournament less than a month ago. Now, Mike White has the Bulldogs playing much better basketball late in the year, winning four games in a row to end the regular season.

While White isn’t focusing on the NCAA Tournament during the season, he is happy with where things are now for his team. With that, he does believe that they’re off the bubble and will make the field come Selection Sunday.

“Process,” White said. “That’s it. I’m sorry. I know y’all want more than that. I’m sorry. That’s where we’re at. Day off tomorrow. Monday have a great practice. These guys have embraced that. They’ve bought into it. They continue to just get better because we’re not focused on that big picture.”

“This is all I’ll say about it. I would assume we’re in. I mean, we’re good, we’re good. Our whole league is good. And there’s going to be a bunch of teams in our league that make it and that do damage in the NCAA Tournament,” White said. “But we’re focused right now on having a great practice again on Monday, prepping to play well, to continue to ride this momentum, to continue to improve in Nashville one day at a time. That’s it.”
