Mike White details difficulty of overcoming hardest situation of career
Ahead of a game against Missouri, Georgia head coach Mike White talked about the hardest situation of his career as the Bulldogs face a make or break stretch to end the regular season.
Georgia lost four of its last six, including two in a two via blowout to No. 2 Alabama and Arkansas. With Missouri, Florida and South Carolina left, the Bulldogs would like to get some momentum for the SEC Tournament.
White opened up about the stretch after the loss to the Razorbacks.
“You just said it, I mean, I haven’t had a week like this and you know a lot of our guys haven’t either and it’s difficult for all of us,” White said. “But I really like our guys, I care about our guys, our guys will continue to fight and you got to model what we preach right? And I continue to tell these guys to strive to control what we can control and we can control getting back home quickly.
“Let’s get on a plane, we got a long flight back, our guys got classes tomorrow, we got to be accountable there and take care of business. Then we got to find a way to get better on Thursday and be really locked in. I thought we controlled a really good shootaround, great energy and effort today and keeping things in perspective, you know, we have done some positive things as I just told our guys.”
White mentioned the chance to end the regular season on a positive note and see what the team could do in March.

“We got a chance potentially with three three regular season (games), four total, to get to 17 wins and solidify a winning season. Maybe you get 18, maybe get 19. Who knows? But let’s focus on Missouri. All of these games are winnable and they’re all losable. It’s a heck of a conference.
“And I don’t think our guys will have any problem, they’ve done a pretty good job all year of focusing on the next play.”
Georgia lost its last time out 97-65 to Arkansas on the road Tuesday. Kario Oquendo led the way with 20 points, two rebounds and one assist. But only Jabri Abdur-Rahim and Justin Hill had double digits, 12 and 10 respectively.
