5-star RB Nathaniel Frazier commits to Georgia: 'Georgia's the top of the top program'
When it came down to it, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei five-star running back Nathaniel Frazier said that choosing between Georgia and Oregon was the hardest decision of his life.
Many expected Frazier to stay on the West Coast when he made his decision. That was before Georgia got involved earlier in the year. The Bulldogs coaching staff first showed interest in Frazier and upped that with an offer in March.
Since then Frazier’s visited Athens multiple times and grew closer to everyone at the school. With all of that factored in, he decided that no other school felt like home quite like Georgia.
“The main reason I picked Georgia was the family atmosphere, the development and the academic part as well,” Frazier told On3. “If you look at the history of Georgia with their two backfield players like Sony Michel, Todd Gurley, Nick Chubb and D’Andre Swift, all of those guys were around playing with each other at the same time. They all made it to the NFL so if you look at that closely and when they played, if you’re a good player and you go to Georgia, you’re going to play.
…That was a big thing for me. It just felt like the place to be and I get a long with everyone there.”
Georgia adding more backfield depth with Frazier
Committing to Georgia, Frazier is well-aware that he’s going into a situation where he’ll be expected to compete for a spot on day one.

Not only do the Bulldogs have plenty of talented backs on their roster already, Georgia also had a pair of four-star running back pledges in its 2024 class. Those two pledges from in-state back Dwight Phillips and former Florida pledge Chauncey Bowens.
“I know I’m going into straight competition and a place I can for sure get better for the next level,” said Frazier, the No. 15 player in the 2024 On300. “Georgia’s the top of the top program. Going against the best players in the country will only make me better for the next level. I’m ready for it all.
Frazier was on campus with Bowens on June 10 when Bowens flipped his commitment from Florida to Georgia. During that visit Frazier noted that the two quickly bonded and it became clear to him that he could see them playing together at the next level.
“It was a real fun time spending time and he’s a good kid,” Frazier said. “We’ve both got a good head on our shoulders so it was cool getting to know him and we really clicked. We can literally repeat that same what backs before us did and keep RBU alive.”
