Nation's No. 2 LB Troy Bowles visiting Georgia this weekend
The headliner on Georgia’ campus this weekend will be Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Arch Manning, but the Bulldogs will have plenty of other elite talent in town as well. Michigan four-star linebacker commit Raylen Wilson tweeted Friday morning that he will be in Athens this weekend, and Troy Bowles, the No. 2 ‘backer in the 2023 class, confirmed he will be, too.
The son of longtime NFL coach Todd Bowles, Troy is one of the country’s elite junior prospects. Bowles checks in as the No. 49 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Bowles is fresh off visits with SEC and Big 12 schools
Bowles is certainly making full use of the offseason, as he recently tripped to Florida, Alabama and Oklahoma; however, Ohio State is the school trending according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, having a 58.8 percent chance at reeling in the top-100 prospect. Georgia isn’t far behind at 36.4 percent and has closed the gap in recent days.
The Buckeyes hosted Bowles three times in 2021, while Georgia, Florida State, Rutgers and Virginia Tech previously rolled out the red carpet as well.
