Paul Finebaum calls Georgia vulnerable heading into Ole Miss, rest of the season

Georgia, who is still currently riding a 26-game winning streak, is coming down the stretch of this season with an unblemished record of 9-0. Even so, with how they and their next opponent looked this past weekend, Paul Finebaum isn’t certain that their run of perfection will still be intact come next week.

Finebaum addressed the potential vulnerability of the ‘Dawgs during ‘McElroy and Cubelic In The Morning’ on Monday. To him, the two-time defending champions are exposed in some sense at this point, even though they’ve managed to pass every test that this season has presented them so far.

“I think they are vulnerable,” Finebaum said. “What I’m impressed with with Georgia is they’ve been tested a number of times now and they’ve passed. But this is in no way a standalone team that is not unbeatable. We know that. This has happened too many times.”

South Carolina, Auburn, and, most recently, Missouri have all pushed Georgia in some way or another this fall. A 21-0 second half helped them overcome an 11-point deficit against the Gamecocks while a 27-10 stretch after the first quarter, including a Brock Bowers touchdown with under three minutes to go, saved them on The Plains. A two-score third quarter then helped them win in one of their closest calls yet against Mizzou on Saturday.

Now, in their second straight ranked matchup in a run of three consecutive Top-25 opponents, Ole Miss might be the team that finally puts on in the Bulldog’s loss column. To Finebaum, that’s in part because of UGA’s own position and also in part because of the Rebel’s own success this year, especially with Lane Kiffin at the helm.

“They are vulnerable this weekend. I like Georgia in the game but Lane Kiffin is the guy that, sometimes, is the most dangerous,” Finebaum explained. “In big games? Lane Kiffin has had some bizarre moments this year, especially in the Alabama game. But he is also capable of throwing a perfect game.”

“If he does that? Ole Miss will be in it in the end,” Finebaum said.

Georgia vs. Ole Miss odds: Early point spread released for Bulldogs, Rebels

Georgia and Ole Miss are colliding in a massive SEC showdown this weekend. Come kickoff, the Bulldogs, who haven’t lost a game since 2021, should still be comfortable favorites.

The hosting Bulldogs opened as 11.5-point favorites over the visiting Rebels per FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under opened at 56.5 points.

Both teams come into their Week 11 clash coming off significant tests. Georgia outlasted a feisty Missouri team at home, turning a 10-10 game at half into a 30-21 win. Meanwhile, Ole Miss also survived a home test by deflecting a game-tying field goal attempt from Texas A&M to stave off overtime and secure a 38-35 win
