In 2023, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are looking to win a third national championship in a row. With one of the most talented rosters in the country, there are a lot of experts who think that’s going to be very doable for the Bulldogs.

One analyst, ESPN’s Paul Finebaum, added that not only does Georgia have plenty of talent, but the Bulldogs also have an incredibly easy schedule.

“You don’t need me for this one, it’s Georgia,” Finebaum said on SportsCenter. “They have an incredibly bad schedule, Matt. I know it’s been hashed out. They had Oklahoma. They were supposed to go to Norman and then the Sooners got in the SEC, and they have nobody on their schedule until they go late in the year to Tennessee and then, of course, the Georgia game as I mentioned.”

As Finebaum insisted, the schedule for Georgia is weak. However, the Bulldogs do benefit from, as one anonymous SEC coach said, having the most complete roster in the SEC.

“It’s a terrible schedule. So, they have to get to the Playoff. They have to win again, and guess what? I think they will.”

It’s true that many of Georgia’s 2023 opponents aren’t who they normally are in terms of talent. Florida and Auburn, two challenging rivals, are both going through rebuilds. Without Oklahoma, Georgia shouldn’t face any challenge in its non-conference slate. Outside of Tennessee in November, only Ole Miss and Kentucky are even ranked in the preseason polls.

Despite how long it’s going to take to get to that Tennessee game, it’s going to be an exciting one in a great environment. After all, even Georgia’s Tate Ratledge said Neyland is the best stadium in the SEC.

Bruce Feldman on why Georgia is the favorite to 3-peat

As college football insider Bruce Feldman recently explained, Georgia is a favorite to 3-peat in no small part because of the question marks surrounding Alabama and those outside the SEC.

“I think they’re well-positioned to do it again. I think what helps them is you look at who’s their biggest competitor in the SEC? It’s been Alabama. You not only have to replace a really good quarterback, you have to replace a Heisman-winning trophy quarterback, the best defensive player they’ve had there in years. You have two new coordinators. You still have a big quarterback question mark coming out of there, whether Tyler Buchner is the guy or not,” Feldman said on The Paul Finebaum Show.

“You look at the team that outside of the SEC is typically the most talented of the super powers, and that’s Ohio State. But they’ve got to replace CJ Stroud at quarterback. And that’s a big if. And they weren’t that good on defense, so they’ve got to get better at that. I think Michigan, this will be Jim Harbaugh’s most talented team he’s had, but they got pushed around by Georgia two years ago in the playoff. They got beat by a TCU squad that was good but obviously lightyears away from being competitive in the national title game. So like I said, this sets up really well for Georgia. They have question marks, too, but I think we’ve got a really interesting season, because one of the few places where almost all of the star quarterbacks came back is in the Pac-12. But no Pac-12 school has gotten within a sniff of the playoff in a long time.”
