Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett in medical tent, dealing with foot problem
While Georiga may want their identity to be running the ball, the entire offensive system depends on the play of Stetson Bennett. However, he seems to be having a foot problem early in the Peach Bowl against Ohio State.
ESPN sideline reporter Laura Rutledge revealed Bennett has spent time in the medical tent, with trainers looking at his right foot. She said the problem does not look “too serious” but said it’s something to monitor moving forward.
“Stetson Bennett went into the medical tent,” Rutledge said. “Athletic trainers took his right shoe off. He taped that foot and then put that shoe back on. And he’s had a long layoff here on the sideline. He’s taken that shoe off a couple of times. It doesn’t seem to be too serious.”
While giving the report, ESPN showed shots of Bennett on the sideline. He was putting ice in the area, hoping to give some short-term relief.
Bennett did not miss anytime, walking right back onto the field when Georgia got the ball back. However, he threw a quick interception and saw Ohio State score on the following possession. There is going to be a deficit for Bennett to chip away at moving forward.
Hopefully, the foot does not remain a problem.
Georgia tight end Darnell Washington ruled out of Peach Bowl
Georgia will walk back onto the field for the second half with a four-point deficit, hoping to make a comeback in the Peach Bowl against Ohio State. However, they will have to do so without one of the offense’s top weapons — tight end Darnell Washington.

Previously, Washington was ruled out “for now” by Georgia. His night seems completely over now, as the Bulldogs will have to find someone else to replace the 6-7 playmaker moving forward.
“(Georgia) will be without tight end Darnell Washington,” ESPN sideline reporter Laura Rutledge said. “He came out on crutches. it’s a left ankle injury. He’s in a boot.”
Washington was injured on a play where quarterback Stetson Bennett threw an interception. He limped off the field and eventually to the locker room before emerging after halftime.
Washington has been a force in all 13 games this season, making 26 receptions from a stat sheet perspective. Those have gone for 417 yards and two touchdowns. However, Washington’s 6-7, 260+ pound frame is where the Bulldogs get the most out of him, especially in the run game.
