Report: Georgia S Javon Bullard jogs off to locker room vs. Ball State
The Georgia football team suffered a key injury during the first quarter of a game against Ball State, though it’s unclear the severity at the moment. Safety Javon Bullard was the man in question.
Bullard was seen jogging to the locker room with training staff, according to The Athletic’s Seth Emerson. David Daniel-Sisavanh was the player who immediately filled in for Bullard, with Ball State driving offensively at the end of the first quarter.
“I’m being told that starting safety Javon Bullard is out of the game for now with a left ankle injury,” SEC Network sideline reporter Alyssa Lang said on the broadcast. “Came out a little banged up just a few minutes ago. To be determined if he comes back in this football game.”
Bullard had four tackles in the season opener last week.
The veteran safety is a key piece of the defense, having started 10 games for the Bulldogs during their national title campaign in 2022. In total, Bullard logged 46 tackles, 7.0 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, a fumble recovery, two interceptions, seven quarterback hurries and three pass breakups.
