Georgia has officially clinched a spot in the SEC Championship Game following the conclusion of Saturday’s action in the conference, the league announced just before midnight.

On a weekend in which a handful of contending teams lost — including Alabama and Ole Miss — it was Georgia who took care of business against a non-conference opponent and watched its ticket punched.

The Bulldogs will now await the winner of next week’s rivalry showdown between Texas and Texas A&M, a game that will determine the other SEC title game participant.

Tim Tebow praises Carson Beck, Georgia

While Georgia had an easy go of things against UMass this weekend, it was a convincing win over Tennessee the week prior that vaulted the Bulldogs back into the thick of the College Football Playoff conversation.

And former Florida superstar turned ESPN analyst Tim Tebow had high praise for quarterback Carson Beck‘s role in that.

Joining Saturday’s edition of SportsCenter, Tebow coined a new phrase and heaped some praise on the Georgia quarterback. He was evidently very impressed with Beck’s 347-yard performance against the Volunteers, and he believes the quarterback is back on track for success in 2024.

“Look at the way he played last week against Tennessee in a must-win situation. I love that. It wasn’t just about his skill set. He actually changed the game with his will-set, with his heart,” Tebow stated. “I love the way that Carson Beck was throwing with conviction. He was throwing with accuracy. He was letting it rip. Almost 350 yards, three TDs. I believe it was his best game of the season.”

Georgia will need Beck at his best, knowing a loss in either the regular-season finale or the SEC Championship Game could mean the end of any playoff hopes.

If Tebow is any indication, the Bulldogs will get that guy.

“I love it. Listen, after drop after drop after drop in the first half, Carson didn’t flinch,” Tebow said. “I believe, yes, he played great with an elite skill set, but he played even better with his will-set of saying, ‘Listen, I’m all in, and I’m going to put the team on my back.’”
