South Carolina transfer DL Xzavier McLeod commits to Georgia Bulldogs
South Carolina transfer defensive lineman Xzavier McLeod recently entered the transfer portal a few days ago looking for a new home. Well, he found it, and he officially committed to the Georgia Bulldogs on Friday, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
The freshman defensive lineman recorded one interception and one tackle this year with the Gamecocks. McLeod left the Gamecock program in October after playing in just four games this season.
On Saturday, December 9th, he shared a visit on his Twitter page on his official visit to Georgia. McLeod had his picture taken with Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart.
McLeod played high school football at Camden (S.C.) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 196 overall recruit and No. 22 defensive lineman in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
McLeod was also selected to play in the Under Armour All-American Game and the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas. Coming out of high school, he picked South Carolina over Georgia and Florida.
