More on Stetson Bennett, Georgia Bulldogs
Continuing, the news of Bennett’s incident comes as he’s preparing to attempt to sell himself to NFL franchises this coming April.
The reigning two-time national title winner was already fighting an uphill battle, with scouts and media members alike panning Bennett’s age and slight build as factors working against his career at the next level. Still, his ability to lead a team and what’s between his shoulders was bound to get him at least a look at the next level, perhaps even on Day 2 of the NFL Draft.
It remains to be seen if his actions will take him off any team’s draft board, but he’ll at least have many more questions to answer come the NFL Combine and throughout the ensuing process.
Nevertheless, his play on the field has spoken for itself, as Stetson Bennett is a champion and a former Heisman finalist. It’ll be fascinating to watch how his football career pans out at the next level, and the ride he goes on over the next couple of month.
