Stetson Bennett IV walked on at Georgia five years ago and the rest, they say, is history.
Now, another Bennett is following in his footsteps and doing the exact same thing.
Luke Bennett, Stetson’s younger brother, has committed to the Bulldogs as a preferred walk-on, announcing the news on social media Thursday.
Bennett played wide receiver in high school for Blackshear (Ga.) Pierce County but also listed himself as a running back on his Twitter page.
He’s run the 40 in 4.5’s.
“Me, Knox, and Stet have always run routes in the yard. Always played one-on-one. Stetson was always all-time QB.” Luke Bennett told ESPN Coastal in January. “From a young age, it was always us two out in the front yard. He had to have somebody to throw to. Me and Knox were those guys.”
The Bulldogs recruiting class is ranked third in the 2022 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking with 29 commits, including four four-star players.
Jefferson (Ga.) five-star safety Malaki Starks, Columbus (Ga.) Hardaway five-star defensive lineman Mykel Williams, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage five-star EDGE Marvin Jones Jr. and Jacksonville (Fla.) Riverside High School five-star cornerback Jaheim Singletary are the four five-star prospects in the class.

Stetson Bennett walked on to the Bulldogs before the 2017 season, having only one scholarship offer to his name at the time from Middle Tennessee.
He served as a scout team quarterback that first season and wowed the staff with his job. But he elected to transfer after that first year to Jones College, a junior college in Mississippi, to try and get an opportunity to run a team for himself. Bennett did a great job during the season and earned a scholarship back to Georgia.
He backed up Jake Fromm in 2019 and then started five games in 2020.
Former five-star quarterback JT Daniels started the 2021 season for the Bulldogs, but after he went down injured, Bennett stepped into the starting role.
He never lost it, leading the Bulldogs on a miraculous run to its first national championship in 40 years and cementing his place as a legend in Athens, Ga.
