Stetson Bennett reveals what Georgia offense accomplished in bye week
While a bye week is a welcome time of rest during the season, it also provides invaluable time to practice. It gives teams extra time to clean up certain things they can’t during a game week and, according to Stetson Bennett, Georgia did exactly that during their off week.
Bennett spoke about the offense’s use of the bye during media on Monday. He said they looked at themselves in the mirror and made the necessary adjustments during practice over the last week.

“Just practice. Just getting after it, going and being critical of ourselves, and listening to corrections,” said Bennett.
The Bulldogs could be much worse off than having the nation’s eighth-best offense. Still, that doesn’t mean there’s no room for improvement. That’s where competing on a team that’s player-driven has made the difference in Bennett’s eyes. He sees the team wanting to improve themselves as much as the coaches are pushing them to improve. That is what separates them and is a good sign to Bennett of what this group can be.

“It’s always been said that a player-led team vs. a coach-led team is better. I think that’s because you keep guys accountable, it’s easier to talk to them, it’s easier to do things the right way. I think that’s what we’ve got,” Bennett said. “It’s not just the coaches telling us that we need to fix things. It’s us going in the film room after practice, before practice looking at the script, knowing what we have to do and then, when we don’t do it, going to fix it. That’s a sign of maturity and I think we did a good job of it over the bye week.”
Georgia has five tough tests to end their season and they’ll need that offensive firepower in all of them We’ll have to wait and see how Bennett and the offense spent their time over the last week until the country’s No. 1 team returns to the field this in Jacksonville against Florida.
