Georgia is hoping to get back two of its better players for a key rivalry game against Florida this weekend, with Kirby Smart providing a pair of updates on Tuesday.

Smart first updated the status of starting offensive guard Tate Ratledge, who had tightrope surgery following the Kentucky game. He also touched on Jordan Hall.

“Both have ramped up in terms of reps,” Kirby Smart said. “Tate took quite a bit yesterday. I don’t know how many he took today, but I know it was more than yesterday because we had more available. But we’re trying to be smart in terms of his volume.”

While Ratledge is battling to get back quickly following his injury, Hall is trying to do the same. But there have been some moments where he’s still impacted by the injury to his legs.

Hall has yet to play this season but might be getting close.

“Jordan’s done more,” Kirby Smart said. “He still has moments where it bothers him, but I thought yesterday was Jordan’s best day yet and I think that three days off really helped him. I have to watch today and see how he was. I don’t really remember.”

Kirby Smart, Georgia lose player for year

Unfortunately, not all of the injury news was positive for the Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Georgia true freshman defensive lineman Joseph Jonah-Ajonye will miss the rest of the 2024 season due to an injury, head coach Kirby Smart announced on Tuesday. No specific information was given by Smart but he did reveal surgery took place just after the Bulldogs faced Texas on Nov. 19.

“Joseph had to deal with a surgery that’s going to keep him out for the rest of the year,” Smart said. “He’s going to be out the rest of the year. He’s dealing with a lower extremity injury. He’s not going to be with us. He’s already had the surgery, he had the surgery after but he didn’t get to go to Texas because of the injury.”
