Tim Tebow gives his takeaways of Carson Beck's game
Consider Tim Tebow a fan of Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck ahead of the SEC title game.
After biding his time behind Stetson Bennett, Beck has been phenomenal for Georgia in 2023. He’s thrown for nearly 3,500 yards, and has posted 22 touchdowns and just six picks on a 72.4% completion rate. He’s just outside the top-five nationally in completion rate while also being No. 10 in the country in passing yards.
As he looks to remain undefeated and defeat Alabama on Saturday, Tebow took some time to elaborate on why he’s a believer in Beck.
“I think it says a couple of things. One is that he’s an incredible young man, and two, I think it says that what they do in practice is really good at Georgia,” Tebow stated, via DawgsHQ. “When I’ve had the chance to sit down and talk with him, you understand that all the practices against those defenses the last couple of years, probably as hard, if not harder, than what he’s experienced this year. That’s real. I just think that it’s prepared him.
“His first SEC game and you’re down in South Carolina, but I know who I’ve practiced against over and over again. That creates a confidence. You know that a lot of really good players in the NFL are the guys that you’ve gone against the last few years. It builds confidence. He’s shown it.”

In addition to Beck’s confidence, Tebow pointed out the quarterback’s impressive maturity and efficiency as reasons why Georgia has been the top team in college football once again this season.
“It’s just been really fun to watch. His maturity. Him playing at such a high level,” Tebow added. “Obviously he doesn’t have the stats that some other guys have because of their style of offense. They’re not putting touchdowns up in the fourth quarter. They control the time of possession a lot more than other teams.
“But the last few weeks, as far as just being efficient and executing his offense, I think you have to put him as a top five guy, just being efficient and running their offense. Now it’s not always going to equate to stats, but he’s playing at an extremely high level.”
Alas, Carson Beck’s performance in 2023 has begun to give some life to his NFL hype train. It may not be enough to get him drafted as a top quarterback next April, but with another great season at Georgia under his belt, Beck could elevate to one of the sport’s top prospects.
