Tim Tebow weighs in on Stetson Bennett ahead of Georgia vs. TCU in College Football Playoff semifinal
Ahead of the College Football Semifinals tonight, Tim Tebow hopped on ESPN to discuss the quarterback play between the four teams left. Of course, Heisman finalist and current reigning champ Stetson Bennett was a topic for conversation, where Tebow was asked to pinpoint the skill that sets the Georgia QB apart.
His answer: “I think it’s his poise.” Why? Read below:
“Listen, this is someone who has never been rattled. The moment has never been too big. The lights have never been too bright. This is someone who — on this field, where he’s gonna play tonight — has six touchdowns, no interceptions, 649 yards in two games.”
According to Tebow, Bennett just has a knack for coming up big in the most important moments of the game. He won’t go for the huge play on every down, but he’ll make the right decision, which reflects his poise.
“Hey, every time it’s a big game, it’s a big moment, this kid rises to the occasion. So I don’t wanna say it’s his passing or it’s his accuracy or it’s his athleticism or it’s making people miss. It’s his poise. Because when his number is called, whenever it is, that’s when he rises to the occasion. Sometimes it’ll be play-action. Sometimes it’ll be the check down. And sometimes it’ll be his athleticism. This kid can do it all. He’s an underrated athlete, he’s got underrated swagger, and he is a big time playmaker. Tonight, I don’t think it’s gonna be any different.”

Stetson Bennett catches a lot of flak for not being the flashiest or most exciting national-title-winning quarterback, but he simply gets the job done and remains poised no matter the pressure. Tim Tebow respects it.
Georgia and Ohio State will do batter later today in the wee hours of 2022 with one club heading to the national title. Should be a doozy.
