Todd Monken shares favorite moment with Stetson Bennett
Stetson Bennett has given Georgia faithful a wealth of memories, but one moment in particular sticks out to offensive coordinator Todd Monken.
Speaking with the media ahead of their attempt to win a second consecutive title, Monken revealed what his favorite moment with Bennett is.
“Favorite moment? Well, that is a great question. Probably my favorite moment, if you just said football-wise, is the series we had against Alabama last year after he fumbled,” explained Monken. “We unloaded on the shots and specials and he handled it and we went right down the field and scored. That says who he is. Not everybody’s capable of making a mistake and then, a little bit like last week, you know, the interception led to 21-7 and, okay, we battle our way back and get ourselves to where we’re actually leading and then score before half. I think he has that about him.
“That’s probably, if you said a moment in a game, that would be it.”
Evidently, the reason Monken has fallen in love with Bennett as a player has been the same reason Bulldogs fans have as well. He’s unshaken by just about anything that happens during a game, and he’s been the difference for Georgia.
The dynamic duo of Todd Monken and Stetson Bennett will look to go out on a high note on Monday, hoping to end their season hoisting a trophy for the Bulldogs once again.

Kirby Smart ‘appreciative’ of Stetson Bennett’s legacy at Georgia
Moreover, Kirby Smart and Stetson Bennett will be forever intertwined at Georgia.
The duo ended the lengthy title drought for the Bulldogs, and have them back looking for a second in two seasons. Ahead of the showdown against TCU on Monday, Smart took a moment to appreciate what Bennett’s legacy will be in Athens.
“I got a long story to tell you, I can assure you that. You think about the things he and I have been through, decisions made. I mean, from the recruitment process to his official visit to what will happen Monday night. I mean, where to begin?” stated Smart. “It will be a long round of golf because there’s a lot of history there for he and I.
“I’m just appreciative of the way he’s handled everything and really what he stands for.”
Who knows what Stetson Bennett’s NFL career will look like, but he’ll always be beloved at Georgia. Heck, Hollywood may want their hands on his story eventually.
At the least, he’ll never have to buy a beer in Athens again.
