Georgia RB Kenny McIntosh shares update on quad injury
Georgia had to finish its 39-22 victory over Kent State without the services of senior running back Kenny McIntosh. The Bulldogs tailback limped to the sideline in the game’s final quarter and did not return.
McIntosh addressed the injury with media Monday afternoon, assuring fans that he’s going to be alright despite practicing with a bruised quad. He’s expecting to suit up this weekend versus Missouri.
“I’ll be fine, a lot of ice baths, you know, that’s all. I’ll be straight,” McIntosh said. “It’s been nagging me a little bit, but I just got a clean shot right there, that’s all it was. Just a little bruise.”

Saturday’s game saw McIntosh amass 44 rushing yards on nine carries. He added six catches for 35 yards, and now leads Georgia in receptions with 21 on the season to go with 227 receiving yards, good for second on the team behind star tight end Brock Bowers.

In terms of rushing, he hasn’t been able to surpass the century mark this season, but has the second most all-purpose yards on the offense with 334 yards behind Bowers’ 358 – aside from quarterback Stetson Bennett‘s 1,224 passing yards, of course – meaning that McIntosh is invaluable to the Bulldogs’ offensive attack.
Head coach Kirby Smart also made sure to address McIntosh’s injuries from the jump, noting his injury was minor following the Kent State win.
“He had a thigh contusion going into the game and he said he got hit on that same thigh again,” Smart said. “They did a good job of cut tackling, they chopped us some. Several guys got hit low on the tackles there, and they do a good job being forceful with it. We had, I think, three or four guys coming out of the last game with thigh contusions, which Kenny has that as well. But we think he’s going to be fine.”
