A Georgia defensive lineman turned himself into police after participating in a viral TikTok challenge this week.

Warren Brinson, a rising junior, took part in the “Orbeez Challenge” and turned himself in Thursday night, according to UGASports’ Anthony Dasher and DawgsHQ’s Wes Blankenship. He faces two misdemeanor charges of simple battery.

The “Orbeez Challenge” involves shooting Orbeez — beads of water — with a pellet gun into groups of strangers. Dasher reported Brinson thought he was shooting the beads at a group of people he knew. However, he didn’t know the group, and they called UGA Police and filed charges.

The trend is gaining popularity on TikTok, and police departments and law enforcement agencies are taking to social media to discourage it.

Brinson was a reserve on the defensive line for Georgia last season as the Bulldogs rattled off a run to the College Football Playoff national championship. In his two years with the program, he has 12 total tackles and a sack, but most of those came last season. He had nine tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss, and one sack to help the Georgia defense become the best in college football.

Out of high school, Brinson was a four-star recruit from the Class of 2020 and was the No. 45 prospect in the state of Florida that year, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Georgia is coming off its first national title since 1980, defeating Alabama 33-18 in the CFP national championship in January. The Bulldogs are now going through spring ball to prepare for the 2022 season and brought in the No. 3 recruiting class in the country this year, according to the On3 Consensus Team Rankings. Their annual G-Day scrimmage is coming up April 16.
