WATCH: Former Georgia Bulldogs lineman Jamaree Salyer gives impressive showing on bench press
The 2022 NFL combine is underway and Indianapolis, IN, and there have been some pretty impressive performances so far by this year’s participants. And on Friday, fans of Georgia Bulldogs football got to puff out their chest in pride as their top offensive lineman prospect put up big numbers in the bench press.
Former Bulldogs interior offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer showed off his strength in the bench press today. In the video below, you can see Salyer throwing up a whopping 30+ reps on the bench.
Salyer put up a total of 31 reps which tied for the second-most in the offensive lineman group. According to ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr, the six-foot-three senior from Atlanta, GA, is currently ranked as the third-best guard in this year’s draft. And although Kiper has him slotted as a guard, Salyer’s size, strength, and athletic ability allow him to line up almost anywhere on the offensive line. With the Bulldogs, Salyer also lined up at offensive tackle, going up against remove the SEC’s brightest stars on the defensive line. And against the Michigan Wolverines, in the College Football Playoff semifinals, the Georgia team captain was able to successfully make, this year’s potential number one overall pick Aiden Hutchinson a nonfactor in the game. With his versatility, he is sure to be a welcomed acquisition to whatever team elects to draft him.
Former Bulldogs star turns reporter for a day at combine
The NFL Combine is a place where NFL Draft prospects show what they’re made of to the many scouts and teams on hand – meaning that it’s a business-first mentality and structure for the players competing.
While the players are there with the goal of improving their draft stock, they’re able to cut loose every now and then – and that’s what former Georgia standouts Nakobe Dean and Channing Tindall did during interviews with reporters on Friday.

With Tindall sitting at the podium fielding questions from reporters, Dean entered the media fray and was able to ask his teammate an important question.
“I got a question, I got a question,” Dean said. “Are you, Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker best friends?”
Tindall responded with a strong “Yes,” and then was followed up by Dean saying, “Go Dawgs!”
The NFL Combine may be a place of business, but Dean and Tindall were able to have a little fun away from football on Friday.
