The 2022 NFL Scouting Combine is underway this weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana and the nation’s top running backs are running through drills on Friday night. Former Georgia running back Zamir White ran his 40-yard dash and he clocked in at an unofficial time of 4.47.

Standing at 6-feet, 214 pounds, 4.47 is an excellent time for the former Georgia running back. But after he ran, NFL Network released the official 40-times and White had actually run an official time of 4.40, ranking him 7th out of the 2022 running backs. So, his official time is even more impressive.

White is leaving the Georgia Bulldogs as a national champion, and he enjoyed the best season of his collegiate career thus far. On the 2021-2022 season, he had 160 carries for 856 yards and 11 touchdowns, adding nine receptions for 75 yards. Last year, White totaled 144 carries for 779 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Coming in as a freshman, White was a highly coveted recruit. He was ranked as a five-star running back, the 12th overall prospect nationally, the second prospect out of North Carolina, and the top running back according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

White held a plethora of offers coming into college after starring at Scotland County High School (NC). He chose Georgia over Ohio State, Alabama, Penn State, Clemson, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and many others.

White isn’t the only Georgia running back heading to the NFL. James Cook is also heading to the pros. Cook amassed 728 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground this year on 113 carries. He also played a big-time role in the passing game with 27 receptions for 284 yards and four touchdowns.

Replacing White and Cook will be no easy task for Georgia, but the Bulldogs have grown used to splitting up the work in the running back room.

Not only that, they’ve got an absolute freak coming in Branson Robinson. The 5-foot-9, 220-pound running back was ranked as the No. 2 running back in America in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings. The Mississippi native is freakishly strong and powerlifted 720 pounds in high school.
