WATCH: Jordan Davis finds the end zone to give Georgia early lead
Jordan Davis can do it all for the Georgia Bulldogs. He has made his mark on the defensive side of the ball this year, becoming one of the best interior defensive linemen in college football. But on Saturday against Charleston Southern, Davis tried his hand on the offensive side of things.
With Georgia two yards away from the end zone, Davis came into the game. Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett handed the ball to Davis on second and goal, and Davis came up a yard short. But on his second attempt, Davis powered his way through, finding the end zone for the touchdown. The score gave Georgia a 7-0 lead over Charleston Southern.
Through two offensive possessions, Georgia’s rushing attack has been dominant. As a team, the Bulldogs have eight carries for 108 yard and the touchdown through two drives.
Davis is a dominant force on Georgia’s defense
Now in his senior season with Georgia, Davis has really made a massive impact this year. On the season, Davis has 23 tackles and two sacks, but his true impact doesn’t always show up on the stat sheet. He is a massive body on the defensive front, and he excels in stopping the run. Davis is likely to become a first round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Earlier in the season, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart had some seriously high praise for Davis. Smart called Davis a very unique player.

“I’ve never had one like him,” Smart said via ESPN’s Chris Low. “Even Terrence Cody [at Alabama] was different. Cody had a sloppier body, but Jordan doesn’t have a lot of body fat. He’s 6-6, and we tell him that if he’s in the 340s, he’s dangerous.”
The impact of Davis has been well documented. Georgia’s defense is the best in college football by a wide margin.
“Godzilla like,” Kirby Smart said about Jordan Davis. “He’s impactful, an immovable object… He’s been impactful in stopping the run and allowing us to play alternative coverages that you can’t do sometimes when people can run the ball.”
