7-footer Cyril Martynov reclassifies, commits to Georgia Tech
Three-star prospect Cyril Martynov tells On3 he has reclassified to 2022 and committed to Georgia Tech.
The 7-foot, 230-pound center originally from Barrie (Ontario) Canada chose the Yellow Jackets over Missouri, Northwestern, and Wisconsin. Martynov spent last high school season at The Lawrenceville School in Lawrence, N.J.

The Canadian big man becomes Georgia Tech’s fourth offseason addition, and joins Latvian guard Freds Pauls Bagatskis. Josh Pastner also landed two transfers in Javon Franklin (12.2 PPG at South Alabama) and Lance Terry (14.3 PPG at Gardner-Webb).

“The reason I chose Georgia Tech was because of all of the boxes that it checked off,” Martynov said to On3. “The level of basketball, academics, and development that the program offers is at a very high level which is really important for me when choosing my school. The coaches and staff were also incredible. I can see myself working with them for the time coming, which brought me to make this decision!”
