Lake Cormorant (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin received an offer from Georgia Tech on Thursday. He announced the news over social media.

Franklin is the No. 25 overall prospect and No. 5 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Mississippi.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound defender revealed his top 10 schools last month. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Ole Miss has a very close lead for his commitment at 29.5%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Georgia Tech has one commit in their 2024 class. Macon (Ga.) First Presbyterian Day School four-star quarterback Jakhari Williams, the No. 117 overall prospect in the On300, chose the Yellow Jackets on Nov. 21.

Additionally, Georgia Tech’s 2023 class contains 21 commits. It ranks No. 62 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 12 in the ACC.

Franklin has an On3 NIL Valuation of $97K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Kamarion Franklin On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Kamarion Franklin:

“Edge defender that projects to DT who wreaks havoc on opposing offenses with his get off and brute strength. Ran an electronically-timed 5.28 40 and jumped a 25” vertical in the spring prior to his junior season. A two-sport athlete who also plays basketball. Disruptive off the edge and lives in the backfield. Totaled 11 sacks as a junior. Instinctive and heady player for a sophomore. Has some hip stiffness but makes up for it with foot speed and play recognition.”
