SoCal offensive lineman Bobby Mooney commits to Georgia Tech
Long Beach (Calif.) Woodrow Wilson Classical offensive lineman Bobby Mooney has committed to Georgia Tech.
“Thrilled to announce that I have Committed to Georgia Tech,” Mooney tweeted. “Thankful to everyone who made this possible! Can’t wait to get started.”
Mooney stands at 6-foot-7. Georgia Tech was his only offer.
He is the 19th member of the Yellow Jackets recruiting class, which ranks 35th in the country, according to the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.
There are three other offensive line recruits in Tucker (Ga.) three-star offensive tackle Brandon Best, Miami (Fla.) Edison three-star interior offensive lineman Jeffrey Bonica and Alpharetta (Ga.) Johns Creek three-star offensive tackle Tyler Gibson.

Bobby Mooney is now a second general Yellow Jacket
Bobby Mooney’s father was former Georgia Tech offensive lineman Mike Mooney.
Mooney played for the Yellow Jackets in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including starting at tackle during the 1990 and 1991 seasons.
The 1990 team is a legendary one on the Flats. The team finishes 11-0-1, won Georgia Tech’s first ACC championship and claimed the national championship after finishing No. 1 in the coaches poll.
Mooney was named All-ACC first team in 1991. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 1992 NFL Draft.
