Wilson is the No. 249 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The 2023 On300 ranking has Wilson as the No. 162 prospect and the No. 24 wide receiver in the country.

After previously committing to Texas over the summer, Wilson chose to reopen his commitment at the beginning of this month. He is the Cougars 12th commitment in the 2023 cycle and their second four-star pledge from the Houston area, joining Klein Forest four-star running back Parker Jenkins.

Jonah Wilson Scouting Summary

Thickly built, x-type wide receiver whose long strides allow him to eat yardage and take the top off of defenses while also “little boy-ing” inferior corners on 50-50 balls. Totaled 34 receptions for 469 yards and 8 touchdowns during his junior campaign. Ran a 22.71 200m during his junior track and field season. Strong hands at the catch point. Not overly twitched up or shifty, more of a straight-line mover. Strength and mass throughout the frame allows him to pull through weaker arm tackles with the ball in his hands. Role player at the next level who needs to develop more fast-twitch muscles in order to raise his athletic ceiling. Basketball player as well.
