Mundelein (Ill.) three-star 2024 offensive tackle Brandon Hansen has committed to Illinois, he announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The 6-foot-6, 290-pounder chose the Illini over offers from Central Michigan and Toledo.

“I am happy to announce that I have committed to the University of Illinois,” he wrote on Twitter. “I want to thank my family and friends for always supporting me. I would also like to thank my coaches and Trainer who helped me through this process. Also for the guidance they have given me, so that I can be in the place I am today.Thank you all for helping me make one of the biggest decisions of my life. I-L-L!!! #FamILLY”

Hansen is the first commitment for Illinois in the 2024 cycle. He ranks as the nation’s No. 738 overall prospect in the junior class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Hansen is also tabbed as the country’s No. 48 offensive tackle and the No. 15 junior recruit in the state.
