Arthur (Ill.) Senior High linebacker Kaden Feagin is staying home. The four-star prospect announced Wednesday that he has committed to in-state Illinois over more than a dozen other offers.

Feagin is the No. 290 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 28 linebacker and the No. 3 junior prospect in Illinois.

The Industry Comparison shows On3 is higher on Feagin than the rest of the industry. In the latest On300 ranking, Feagin checks in as the country’s No. 217 prospect, No. 19 linebacker and No. 2 player in Illinois.

He chose the Fighting Illini over offers from Iowa, Notre Dame, Missouri, Michigan, Minnesota, and others. His commitment is the first for Illinois in the 2023 recruiting cycle. While a number of programs were pursuing him at linebacker, Illinois was among a few that want him as a running back at the next level.

Kaden Feagin had 143 carries for 1,249 yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior last season. On defense, he had 99 tackles, 39 solo, and two interceptions while returning one for a touchdown. He had four kick returns for 143 yards and a touchdown and three punt returns for 66 yards and a touchdown.
