Three-Star SG Jase Butler commits to Illinois

Point Reyes Station (Calif.) The Branson School 2024 three-star shooting guard Jase Butler has committed to Illinois.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound senior chose the Fighting Illini over a final group of New Mexico, LMU, San Francisco, Colorado State, and UCSB.

“I felt (Illinois) was the best place for me to reach my goals,” Butler said to On3.

In his own words, what type of player is Illinois getting in Butler?

“I’m a high IQ point guard, who make the right plays, a two-way player that can give you a bucket from anywhere on the floor.”

He has a message for Illini fans.

“I’m ready to carry on the winning tradition!”

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Butler is the No. 194 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He’s also the No. 42 shooting guard prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
