Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas three-star running back Cedric Wyche has committed to Illinois, he announced on Saturday afternoon.

He chose the Fighting Illini while also holding offers from over 10 other Power Four programs, including the likes of Missouri, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Florida, Michigan State and NC State.

Wyche is the No. 634 overall prospect and No. 51 RB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 77 player in Florida.

The 5-foot-10, 195-pound tailback made his way to Champaign for an official visit on June 21. He becomes the latest addition to Bret Bielema’s pledge list — which now ranks No. 47 in the nation and No. 14 in the Big Ten, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

In 11 games for STA last season, Wyche tallied 63 carries for 470 yards and six touchdowns. He also caught 14 passes for an additional 266 yards and three scores, in addition to a whopping 351 yards on kick return duty.
