3-star OT Austin Barrett commits to Indiana
Saint Charles (Ill.) three-star offensive tackle Austin Barrett committed to Indiana on Friday night. The 6-foot-5, 265 pound prospect is the seventh member of the Hoosiers’ 2023 recruiting class.
Barrett is the No. 880 overall prospect and No. 52 offensive tackle in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 14 player in Illinois.
“Thank you (head) Coach (Tom) Allen and (offensive line) Coach (Darren) Hiller for the opportunity and I can’t wait to play for you!” Barrett wrote in a message published on social media. “GO HOOSIERS!!!!”
Barrett is the first 2023 offensive tackle commit for Indiana. However, the Hoosiers do have a pledge from Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep three-star interior offensive lineman William Larkins. Barrett is the Hoosiers’ first commit this month. In June, they received pledges from Lake City (Fla.) Columbia three-star safety Amare Ferrell and Piedmont (S.C.) Wren three-star safety Travon West.
The rest of Indiana’s class includes Larkins, Greensburg (Ind.) Greensburg Community School three-star tight end Sam West, Canfield (Ohio) three-star quarterback Brock Lowry and Coppell (Texas) three-star punter Nicolas Radicic.
