Sarasota (Fla.) Cardinal Mooney three-star cornerback Chris McCorkle has decommitted from Indiana, he announced on Sunday.

He was pledged to the Hoosiers since April 26. McCorkle took an official visit to Michigan State this weekend.

McCorkle is the No. 499 overall prospect and No. 48 corner in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 67 player in Florida.

“I wanna thank Coach Cignetti, Coach Ojong & the whole staff at Indiana for giving me this opportunity of a lifetime. Although I enjoyed every last bit of my commitment with the university and the staff members, I’ve had long talks with god, my family & my coaches. I will be de-committing from Indiana University,” McCorkle wrote announcing his decision. “Recruitment is open but I will be focusing more on myself, my growth and making sure my team and I are ready for this upcoming season!”

Hoosiers down to 10 commitments in 2025 class

The loss of McCorkle leaves Curt Cignetti’s pledge list with 10 prospects. The Sunshine State corner was the second highest-ranked member of IU’s class.

Baltimore Calvert Hall four-star safety Byron Baldwin remains the lone four-star commit in the mix, checking in at No. 337 overall and No. 30 at his position.

“Their coaching staff and I get to the opportunity to play Big Ten Football is the reason I picked them.,” Baldwin told On3’s Steve Wiltfong in April. “They knew how to win at JMU and the message being sent to me that stuck out was that they believe they are going to get it done at IU. I want to be a part of that change at Indiana.”

Clearwater (Fla.) Calvary Christian three-star running back Sean Cuono committed earlier this month. Loganville (Ga.) Grayson three-star corner Jaylen Bell is also in the class, as are the likes of Columbia (Tenn.) Central three-star defensive lineman Jhrevious Hall, Norfolk (Va.) Maury three-star wide receiver LeBron Bond and Carmel (Ind.) three-star IOL Evan Parker.
