4-star quarterback Tanner Bailey visiting Indiana this weekend
Just three days after decommitting from Oregon, Gordo (Ala.) quarterback Tanner Bailey has set an official visit for this weekend.
Bailey told 247Sports that he will head to Indiana this weekend, the final official visit weekend prior to National Signing Day on Dec. 15.
He is the No. 339 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 20 quarterback and the No. 16 prospect in Alabama.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Bailey committed to the Ducks in March over offers from South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Florida State and others. As a senior this season, he threw for better than 2,000 yards and 30 touchdowns for Gordo.
Indiana offered Bailey on Tuesday. And just a few days later, he’ll head to see them with just five days until the signing period opens.

The Hoosiers do not currently have a quarterback committed for the 2022 cycle, and Bailey immediately becomes a major target. Three-star signal-caller Josh Hoover was pledged to Indiana until three days ago, when he flipped his commitment to TCU. The Hoosiers’ starting quarterback this year, Michael Penix Jr., also recently entered the transfer portal.
On3’s GatorsOnline reported earlier Thursday that Florida, which just lost four-star quarterback Nick Evers, has also been in contact with Tanner Bailey.
Bailey talked with UF staffer Ryan O’ Hara on Wednesday. O’Hara serves as an offensive analyst that works with the quarterback position. According to his LinkedIn, O’ Hara worked with Napier and his quarterbacks since January of 2019.
“[O’ Hara] said they liked my film and planned on reaching out and talking more soon.” Bailey said.
The Gators are looking to get him on campus for a visit in January. Indiana is hoping that by January, Bailey will already be enrolled in Bloomington.
