Indiana offers 2024 5-star EDGE Eddrick Houston

Buford (Ga.) five-star EDGE Eddrick Houston received an offer from Indiana on Thursday. He announced the news over social media.

Houston is the No. 13 overall prospect and No. 2 EDGE in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Georgia.

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound pass rusher holds 34 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Georgia is leading for his commitment at 39.4%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. 

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

The Hoosiers do not have any commitments in their 2024 recruiting class. Meanwhile, Indiana’s 2023 class contains 13 pledges and ranks No. 70 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings, as well as No. 14 in the Big Ten.

Houston has an On3 NIL Valuation of $116K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

“Shows off athletic ability and physicality at the point of attack on offense as well at the tight end position. Lacks ideal length for the edge but makes up for it with his hand usage and understanding of leverage.”
