Curt Cignetti revealed massive, but unfortunate news on new Indiana wide receiver Tyler Morris. The head coach said Morris is out for the season after suffering a non-contact knee injury.

Morris will require surgery and will not be able to play in 2025. The new Hoosiers WR just transferred in from Michigan.

Morris played three seasons at Michigan, totaling 39 catches, 470 yards, three touchdowns and 12.1 yards per catch. He had a career high 23 catches last season for the Wolverines.

As a member of the Class of 2022, Morris was a four-star recruit out of Bolingbrook (Ill.) Plainfield East, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 5 overall prospect in the state, the No. 26 wide receiver in the class and the No. 157 overall prospect in the class.

Morris is most famous for his touchdown grab in the Rose Bowl College Football Playoff semifinal victory over Alabama, when he darted 38 yards past the Crimson Tide defense.

“The play wasn’t designed to go to me, so it’s not like I was the first option or anything like that,” Morris told TheWolverine.com earlier this year. “But you gotta run it to expect it. And then I saw the linebacker coming down, so I knew he had me.

“And there was nobody in front of me, so I just kept running. Honestly, once I caught it, I tried to run as fast I could and get up the corner.”
