2022 TE Cael Vanderbush commits to Iowa two days after visiting
Just two days after receiving an offer from Iowa, 2022 consensus three-star tight end Cael Vanderbush committed to the Hawkeyes on Monday night.
Vanderbush, who was previously committed to Western Michigan, made the announcement on his Twitter page.
He originally committed to the Broncos on July 6 before he had any Power Five offers.
But he quickly entered the Power Five radar over the last few weeks. He earned his first Power Five offer from Utah on Sept. 18.
The Iowa offer came Saturday during a visit to Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City.
Cael Vanderbush decommitted from the Broncos on Sunday.
Where Cael Vanderbush fits in the Iowa recruiting class.
Cael Vanderbush is the second tight end in the 2022 recruiting cycle to commit to Iowa. Sun Prairie (Wisc.) High consensus three-star Addison Ostrenga is the other.
Both guys are tall — Vanderbush is 6-foot-6 and Ostrenga is 6-foot-5 — and strong players who could be great fits in the Hawkeyes run-heavy system.
The Iowa 2022 recruiting class now has 10 recruits following Cael Vanderbush’s commitment.
Only one player slots in at On300: Gowrie (Iowa) Southeast Valley defensive lineman Aaron Graves.

Iowa is gaining a reputation as a tight end factory
Iowa has earned a reputation as one of the best developers of tight ends over the last few years due to the success of its alumni in the NFL.
George Kittle, who played for the Hawkeyes from 2012-2016, is the best example.
Kittle even started a Tight End University for the best tight ends in the world to train with each other in the summer.
But he is not the only. T. J. Hockenson and Noah Fant were each drafted in the first round in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Cael Vanderbush could be the next player in that lineage.
