Marion (Iowa) four-star athlete Alex Mota is staying home and has committed to Iowa, announcing the news Friday morning.

Mota is the No. 321 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Des Moines (Iowa) Southeast Polk five-star offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor and Bettendorf (Iowa) Pleasant Valley four-star EDGE Andrew Depaepe are the lone players in the state of Iowa ranked ahead of him in the On3 Consensus.

In the 2023 On300 ranking, Mota is ranked as the No. 150 overall prospect in the class and the eighth-best athlete.

Mota currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $13,300. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
